Bill Evans - Montreux II (1970 Album)
Caught Bill & LaFaro & Motian twice at the Vanguard in the Sixties back in my anti-war days when Max Gordon, the owner, would let a fan or two sit at the bar for a set.. Bill was so great with LaFaro & Motian back then. I guess Bill had the life he wanted but for those of us who loved him and his music it was much too short.
What's wrong with the crowd lol
RIP Alex Riel.
Impeccable, each time I hear it. Thank you very mcuh.
Like a magic velvet touch petting my heart.
17:19 - 17:36 this sounds almost like Scriabin

I JUST HATE THE ADS
Most of the greats were killed by prolonged use of heroin Bill Evans was one of them
I have this since the 1990s on videotape and I've watched it hundreds of times. Words like supreme aesthetic, sophistication, dedication, artistic integrity come to mind when one tries to describe Bill Evans. Every aspiring jazz musician and/or serious listener who wants to have an understanding of the creative process in jazz must watch this masterpiece of an interview by the Evans brothers.

Very honest and simple musician... Rare in music world
... ¡¡¡ GRACIAS INFINITAS !!! ...
Ein kleines Album vom großen Meister! Thanks for the up-load!
I'm a Bill Evans fan but my respect and admiration for Miriam McPartland is equal. Piano Jazz was one of the best productions on NPR and one of the reasons why NPR remains at the top.

the level of intelligence and attention span assumed in tv from the 50's and 60's is astoundingly high compared with equivalent tv from today
See you space cowboy…

Lovely
They was a genuine musical meeting of kindred spirits between Evans and Zetterlund. A musician that worked with her later said: "It wasn't easy to play the piano with Monica not being Bill Evans". She always said that the album they made together was the best she ever did and it was really done in no time, cause she was acting in a comical review at the time (1964). It's also known that she was shaking by nerves before the first take at the album, because she admired Bill Evans as a musician so much. The album wasn't her idea, the producer Göte Wilhelmsson sent a copy of her singing Waltz for Debby with the Swedish lyrics to Bill Evans who was fresh out of rehab. He loved it and said he would come to Sweden and cut an album with his group and Monica. And it happened. It's so wonderful that it did, because Monica really had a fantastic career in Sweden, but to her this was her finest hour.
Thanks a million! Love Emily!
As an abstract painter 👨🏾🎨 I am absolutely delighted mesmerized and star struck at the brilliance and talent and precision of bill in this work. I aspire to create something that impacts people like this so many years from now! I’m so moved by this work it damn near brings me to tears. Elsa is a breathtaking. I can feel his deep passion in every note. I’m only 42 years old but I’ve come back to this recording many times over the past 5 years
